Job Description

The Global High-Net-Worth (Global HNW) Life Insurance Business was formed in 2023 to leverage Manulife’s enterprise-wide capabilities in serving this customer segment. By bringing together Manulife Bermuda with Manulife Hong Kong’s and Manulife Singapore’s International Brokerage Channel, the GHNW business can capitalize on the strengths of the three business units to accelerate growth in the HNW and Ultra HNW markets.

The Manulife Bermuda AVP, Product Development is highly visible and critical for the implementation of Manulife Bermuda’s top strategic priorities and will report directly into the Chief Solutions Officer. This is an entrepreneurial role, where the individual will operate as a leader, a strategist, and a consultant. She/he will conduct market research, develop product roadmap and collaborate closely with global teams to drive the smooth development of industry leading products and implement critical business initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a consultative thought partner to support the creation of a multi-year strategic plan

  • Spearhead the execution of strategy and implementation of solutions across the organization

  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of diverse professionals that manage the development and launch of products.

  • Ensure product initiatives meet marketing, profitability, and risk management goals while aligning with corporate guidelines and regulatory environment.

  • Oversee the development, enhancement, and management of the product portfolio

  • Proactively monitors and shares industry, competitive and general business trends to enable strategic planning and delivery of outcomes in alignment with segment priorities

  • Collaborate with the other Manulife entities to share ideas globally as well as implement products and processes to support serving global HNW customers

  • Align incentives, investments, and resources to support the product strategy

  • Contribute to the development of long-term product strategies and business growth initiatives

Knowledge / Skills / Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field; MBA preferred

  • Proven leadership experience in product management or related roles

  • Creative thinker with an innovative, growth-oriented mindset

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to product strategies and roadmaps

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and influence associates at all levels and at a distance

  • Superior market research and customer feedback gathering skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

  • Understanding of market trends and competitive landscape in the high-net-worth segment

  • Familiarity with product portfolio management and strategic alignment

  • Knowledge of financial and investment products for high-net-worth customers

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Salary range is expected to be between

$114,975.00 USD - $206,955.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
