Red Hat Principal Technical Marketing Manager, Edge Computing in Boston, Massachusetts

About the Job

The Red Hat Edge Business Unit is looking for a Principal Technical Marketing Manager to join us and drive technical marketing efforts for Edge Computing. The ideal candidate brings a blend of knowledge from IT Technologies (Linux OS, Kubernetes, Virtualization, Modern App Dev etc.) and Operations Technologies (Industrial Controls & Automation systems, Retail store technologies etc.)

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and delivering technical marketing assets that influence technical audiences to purchase and adopt Red Hat portfolio of products for Edge Computing, ranging from Red Hat Enterprise Linux to OpenShift and MicroShift to Ansible Automation Platform. You'll focus your efforts toward blogs, videos, and demos that are viewed by prospective Edge Computing customers as well as Red Hat sales and field teams. You will also have significant technical sales enablement responsibility, and also help influence the product direction by internally communicating requirements and opportunities learned through customer interactions.

What You'll Do

  • Be a subject matter expert on technical features and capabilities in Red Hat technologies as it relates to Edge Computing use-cases

  • Create and deliver external content like demos, blogs, how-to videos, papers, articles, etc.

  • Create and deliver internal content like technical selling materials in the form of slides, sizing spreadsheets, reference architecture documents etc.

  • Coordinate other resources across Red Hat to create and deliver content as needed

  • Deliver impactful presentations at key industry and Red Hat events to relevant audiences

  • Train solutions architects and other technical field associates, as well as partner technical associates, on how Red Hat technologies meet edge computing use-cases

  • Communicate requirements and product improvement opportunities to relevant product stakeholders like Product Management and Engineering

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related area

  • 5-10 years of technical marketing management experience with a proven understanding of either IT Technologies (OS, Virtualization, Kubernetes etc), OT Technologies (Industrial IoT, Automation & Control systems, Retail Point of Sale etc.) or both

  • A proven track record of success in a fast moving, technical environment including a proven ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly

  • Hands-on technical aptitude to create compelling demos, training workshops, reference architecture documents, etc

  • Ability to create high-quality, compelling technical marketing content quickly and accurately (often from scratch)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in an influence-driven and cross-functional environment

  • Charismatic personality with excellent presentation skills, ability to energize and excite technical audiences

  • Willingness to travel 25%The salary range for this position is $144,660.00 - $238,650.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
