Suffolk University is seeking qualified candidates to consider for part-time, temporary, non-benefits eligible positions (3) to support the director of political research in all aspects of poll production through the election season August through November, 2022. This includes collaborating with State Elections boards; conducting demographic census research; composing surveys using exact formatting of state ballots; creating sample frames for surveys; handling program and test surveys; monitoring live calling remotely with phone bank; applying statistical weighting to surveys, if applicable. This Will also include setting up banner points for cross-tabulation tables; proofing cross-tabulations prior to public posting and working closely with the Senior Policy Analyst to ensure poll deliverables are accurate and formatted.

Requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s is preferred. Prior experience with statistical analysis for polling production, strong computer skills including, but not limited to working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Stata, SPSS or other statistical software; ability to work late nights and weekends into early am hours are required. Ability to work in a high-pressure, detail-oriented role and display strong communication skills. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Preference is given to Suffolk students who have successfully completed Suffolk University’s undergraduate GVT 323 and/or graduate GVT course 623 AE or equivalent. Commitment from August through November (10 weeks) is required.
