Who We Serve: Massachusetts was the first state in the nation to combine energy and environmental agencies under one Cabinet secretary. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) serves Commonwealth residents interested in outdoor recreational activities, clean energy solutions and those who work with animals and livestock. Equally, EOEEA works with energy consumers, power companies, clean energy providers and farmers to delicately balance the interaction with environmental protection laws and regulations while being a cornerstone for our economic prosperity. Job Opening: The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, seeks applicants for the position of Contracted Student Intern – Drinking Water Program to perform the following duties: Please submit a cover letter and resume as part of your application. Drinking Water Program This project supports the goals of the Safe Drinking Water Act Assist staff with various Drinking Water Program projects related to water quality, technical assistance, source protection and compliance. Tasks will involve research, data entry, document development, document updates, field visits and writing an article for the Drinking Water Program newsletter. Participation in staff meetings is required. Preferred Qualifications * Course work in either environmental sciences, community planning, geography, geology, earth science or public health. * Good writing and research skills. * General knowledge of relevant science and technology concepts. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software. * Ability to work independently, and in an organized manner with strong attention to detail.
