The mission of the AMER scale team is to provide curated and automated journeys for AWS Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), System Integrators (SIs), AWS Marketplace (AWSMP) Consulting Partners (CPs), Distribution and their downstream partners to progress these partnerships and achieve successful customer outcomes through delivery of partner-attached revenue at scale. The AMER Scale team is looking for an experienced Distribution Operations Partner Development Manager to straddle management of operations with proactive sales alignment, and creation/management of pipeline with all AMER distributor partners. Specifically, the role is responsible for management of invoicing, program funding, account issues, reporting, exceptions, sales alignment, billing, and pipeline for AMER distributors. Engaging and aligning with cross functional organizations within AWS is also important to the success of this role. As the business grows, you will help partners and the AWS sales organization establish customer wins on AWS, deliver feedback from your partners to our engineering teams, and advocate for new distribution programs that haven't been built yet. The ideal candidate is driven to succeed with a strong bias for action, desire to learn, and insists on the highest of standards while also being a collaborative team player.

Key job responsibilities

  • Supports operational needs, tracks and escalates Billing Console cases and sales tax refunds

  • Management of payer and linked account issues

  • Supports AWS Account execs in partner deals. Connects AWS sellers with distribution partner sales and partner reps.

  • Provides onboarding support and issue resolution

  • Supports program funding

  • Supports downstream seller needs

  • Trains distribution partner sellers

  • Holds pipeline calls, manages and surfaces pipeline and creates pipeline reports

  • Organizes QBRs for AMER distribution partners

  • Outreach to distribution sales teams to drive AWS awareness, partner account planning and enablement

About the team

The AMER Scale team manages many partners through low and high-touch coverage mechanisms. The team roles span 1) ISV onboarding; 2) SI onboarding; 3) AWS Marketplace channel business; and 4) Distribution partners. The teams leverage co-build/co-sell/funding programs, incentives, and engineered mechanisms to deliver results. By bringing together these disparate teams into one organization, we have a unique opportunity to foster a culture of speed and innovation in partnership with APO engineering to deliver partner-attach revenue at scale. We have a broad team with diverse roles where builders early in their careers can gain scope and experience, and this team serves as the feeder to other AWS organizations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience setting up and managing a sales pipeline

  • Experience in business development, partner development, sales or alliances management

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
