About the role

Our BSA Energy team, composed of 3 people, is integrated into the Italian Solvay Business department and focuses on the development of the supply of biomethane in Italy for the needs of Solvay’s plants in Italy.

Being part of the team for the development of the supply of biomethane in Italy, and to take part of the Energy Transition Roadmap, in particular for Solvay Rosignano site, that encompass both the energy in terms of steam at competitive price and the CO2 footprint that has to be reduced by 30% in 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050.

As a Business Developer in Bollate, you will work on identifying the potential sources of Biomethane in Italy. and support the BSA Energy team. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the Bollate site and have a positive impact on the Solvay Group.

You will be accountable for:

Identifying the potential sources of Biomethane in Italy considering the four main areas: Landfill; Organic waste management; Agriculture residues management; Supply from gas/biomethane operators

  • Building the leads and contacting new counterparties to increase the number of potential sources of Biomethane, actively participate in biomethane-related events.

  • Supporting the Italian team to define and conclude long-term agreements with biomethane operators

  • Building a good understanding of the biomethane market in Italy

Develop the Biomethane supply for Solvay in Italy:

  • Market and regulatory analysis.

  • Analysis and understanding of the value chain of the biomethane production

  • Suppliers, partners’ identification and contact.

  • Contacts with sector associations.

  • Identification of key differentiator factors for Solvay vs other potential biomethane off-takers and value proposition development

You'll have the chance to:

  • Discover and learn the business development in the renewable energy sector

  • Have a unique professional experience in the energy transition field from an industrial player perspective

  • We offer a fixed-term (6 months) contract based on work on-site at the beginning (for training purposes) and later on a hybrid working mode.

About you

  • Relevant education degree: Master's Degree student in Business school or Engineering school in energy domain, energy transition, or chemistry

Competencies:

  • Fluent Italian

  • Fluent English

  • French is a plus

Appetence for:

  • MS Office or equivalent knowledge

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role.

  • The primary country base pay reasonably expected for this role is between 700EUR and 800EUR a month for 6 months.
