Brunswick Community College One-Stop Student Specialist in Bolivia, North Carolina
**GENERAL FUNCTION Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, the OneStop Student Service Specialist (continuing education/ workforce development) provides general support services to students and is knowledgeable of the Colleges programs and resources with an emphasis on continuing education and workforce development. The specialist role has a working knowledge of courses, credentials, fees, registration, and scholarship information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with greeting OneStop Student Service Center visitors, determining service needs, and controlling the flow of visitors to the Center.
- Answer CEWD phone line, monitors, and responds to emails for continuing education/work force development inquiries.
- Communicate general information to students, potential students, parents, and the public in relation to courses and programs offered by the college.
- Assist students with e nrollment/registration in person, by phone or virtually.
- Maintain knowledge of general college policies and procedures associated with scholarships/financial aid, tuition payment, testing, orientation, class registration, adding, dropping, or withdrawing from a class/program.
- Link students to scholarship/financial aid opportunities, college life, support and learning resources.
- Interact with students, potential students, parents, and the public face-to-face, by phone, video conferencing, or by email as assigned.
- Assist students in accessing BCCs website, MyBCC, Self-Service, and any other system used to conduct college business.
- At all times, takes precaution to preserve the confidentiality of protected information per college policies and state and federal laws (FERPA, HIPPA).
- Assist with campus tours, recruiting, and admission events.
- Provide accurate data entry associated with the Colleague system (contracts, student registration).
- Provides administrative support to the Director of Internal Auditing to enter Section Contracts.
- Maintain open communication with the Director of Internal Auditing and Records and the Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.
