Our Opportunity Summary:

As a Senior Manager, Strategic Cost Management at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for driving the Global Procurement Spending, Savings and Should Cost data analytics, to extract meaningful insights and to enable the achievement of strategic targets! You will manage your team members and partner with collaborators in Global Procurement, Finance, and Business Units across Micron’s global sites, to ensure profitability and products' cost optimization. You will guide the team in setting and supervising key internal cost and should cost metrics, evaluate category market conditions and trends, analyze supply/demand challenges and other pertinent category dynamics. You will lead cross-functional initiatives across category teams and collaborators with the category analysts. Accountable for developing and implementing actionable insights that enable the category team to achieve business objectives.

What’s Encouraged Daily:

  • Lead the build and maintenance of Category Should Cost Models

  • Standardize the Should Cost framework deployment and automation, leveraging industry leading tools

  • Support the design, development and deployment of Cost Management framework to drive ongoing improvement in cost management practices, to enable competitive cost management

  • Improve the “Cost Savings Playbook”, Spend analytics reporting for insights and opportunities

  • Provide and drive thought-leadership on all Procurement cost related aspects (systems, processes, sophisticated analytics, automation, competitiveness benchmarking, savings opportunities and roadmap)

  • Implement sophisticated AI/ML Predictive Cost capabilities

  • Partner and build effective relationships with the Global Procurement Commodity / Category groups as well as function across the company (Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Business Units, Engineering)

What Sets You Apart:

  • Experienced Manager/Sr. Manager with background in either Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, or Engineering]

  • Experienced in people management, leading mid-size distributed team of experts

  • Highly skilled in analytical thinking and problem-solving, pays attention to detail, and highly comfortable in working with financial data

  • Have the skills for business insight and data proficiency, demonstrates financial insights to make a data-driven decision

  • Demonstrates strong communication in a structured, clear and influential way, with senior leaders/executives

  • Have a global perspective and a positive demeanor that is well-suited for working across different regions

  • Agile in adopting new technology tools and working methods sought at continuous improvement to better business outcomes

  • Self-motivated, driven individual who is comfortable working in a global, fast-paced and dynamic environment

How To Qualify:

  • Master's degree in finance, Engineering, or STEM from an accredited college/university

  • Strong People management skill

  • Proven experience working optimally in a matrixed, global organization

  • Experience in leading large scale projects

  • 10+ years of Cost /Pricing Experience
