Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) is a 38-bed unit that specializes in post-acute stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and generalized weakness. We are CARF and MAGNET certified. Due to the nature of Rehab, the care here is highly coordinated interdisciplinary care. Patients require daily Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and/or Recreational Therapy along with significant medical oversight to reach their discharge goals. The emphasis is on a return to functionality and promoting the highest level of self-sufficiency for patients who often start off significantly compromised due to stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological insults.

What you can expect from this role

• Full-time; 3 x 12-hour shifts a week (self-scheduling model)

• Night shift opportunities + shift differentials offered

• Certification pay (ex.CRRN)

• With an average stay of 14 days for each patient, you will have the opportunity to build a long-term rapport with patients

• Responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care

• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient’s needs

• Nursing skills will include PICC lines, starting IVs, drawing labs, care of lines/tubes/drains, complicated wound care, continence rehabilitation, IV antibiotics, catheter care and NIH stroke assessments

Minimum qualifications for this role

• Education: Nursing Degree

• Experience: One (1) + years’ RN experience

• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Health & Safety Institute

• Preferred: Previous experience in Rehabilitation or Med/Surg
