Carollo Engineers Laboratory Technologist in Boise, Idaho

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an Laboratory Technologist to support the Applied Research program and our process testing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision, assists engineering teams by conducting research, performing investigations, and deriving data from measurements

  • Makes preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations

  • Adjusts and correlates data

  • Recognizes discrepancies in results

  • Follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes

  • Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment

  • Develop research plans, coordinate testing, and prepare reports as needed on assigned tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in microbiology, chemistry, environmental science, environmental engineering, or civil engineering

  • Knowledge of water and wastewater process bench testing and modeling

  • 2+ years of related research experience

  • Experience with experimental design

  • Experience with analytical instrumentation

  • Experience with laboratory organization

  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques, including pipetting, weighing chemicals, calculating and making stock solutions, basic instrumentation skills

  • Familiarity with codes and regulations related to water pollution control

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in biological, chemical, and physical process evaluations is a plus.

  • Experience with QA/QC procedures and date interpretation.
