Position Purpose:

Saint Alphonsus Health System is hiring a Health and Wellness Coach to plan, coordinate and facilitate health activities, wellness programs, and individual health coaching to inspire participants and patients to engage in healthier habits.

Position Highlights and Benefits:

  • Schedule Information: This position is scheduled for 40 hours a week and may include travel between our sites in Idaho and Oregon. Travel in the Treasure Valley is frequent while travel to our Oregon sites is more uncommon. This position may also be eligible for a hybrid work style.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, focus in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition preferred.

  • Registered Dietitian or RD eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. If RD-eligible, must complete examination and registration for RD designation within 90-days of hire.

  • Colleague must have a Registered Dietitian (RD) license, as defined by their primary work state (Idaho or Oregon), issued prior to hire date. New colleague must provide licensure or proof of application in their secondary state within six months of joining Saint Alphonsus.

  • Certification from an accredited professional wellness coach training program preferred.

  • Must have active driving privileges. If, during the course of employment, driving privileges change or colleague receives a driving citation, the colleague is required to notify their supervisor and/or HR.

What You Will Do:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Knowledge of specific disease and lifestyle related topics such as smoking cessation, weight management, nutrition, stress reduction and chronic conditions preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with associates in a professional and caring manner.

  • Must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment.

  • Assists with the coordination, planning, and evaluation of worksite wellness programs.

  • Responsible for reaching out to associates and providing wellness coaching to reduce or eliminate high-risk behaviors.

  • Develops and conducts onsite health-related wellness seminars and training courses for interested employees and family members.

  • Develops and distributes health education materials to identified employers, employees and family members.

  • Assists in marketing and promotion of Corporate Health Services to potential customers and associates.

  • Coordinates Care with other health system service lines for optimal patient care.

  • Provides in-person, web based, and telephonic assessment, health education and behavior change coaching.

  • Participates in documentation of care and care planning.

  • Must be enthusiastic about wellness and strive to model healthy behaviors.
