Summary Statement
Warm Springs Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course nestled along the Boise River and just minutes from downtown Boise, is seeking a dedicated Golf Pro/ Pro Shop Assistant to join our team!
In this role, you will:
Oversee and coordinate golf service operations.
Administer leagues and golf tournaments for both men and ladies golf associations.
Collaborate with other staff within the golf course to ensure special events and daily golf operations run efficiently.
Assist with the management operations of the retail store.
Essential Functions
Tracks and verifies all players and guests charges. Makes recommendations regarding product and service availability for patron needs. Provides golf technique and product knowledge information. Monitors customers on the golf course and sets tee times to coordinate pace of play. Ensures customer satisfaction and service. Responds to complaints and inquiries. Ensures appropriate merchandising of the golf shop. Cleans, sweeps, and re-stocks shelves.
Assists with retail customer sales and service, Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions, special orders for customers. Creates purchase orders and codes invoices. Performs physical Inventories to validate counts and to protect City’s Merchandise assets. Investigates Inventory discrepancies and report to Accounting. Performs Year End Inventory and coordinates Year End Closing with Accounting and Audit staff.
Coordinates all golf course services and operations. Develops, administers, and coordinates all tournaments and league programs. Administer member’s tournament winning accounts. Promotes all association events. Ensures facilities are operational for tournaments and special events. Trains, administers, and directs temporary seasonal staff.
Trains others on golf instruction and management of the instruction programs. Answers questions and provides feedback and guidance on instruction and management of lessons. Conducts golf lessons for patrons. Utilizes various training techniques and methods tailored to the customer's individual needs.
Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
High school diploma or equivalent and PGA Level II golf professional plus three years’ experience working at a golf course.
Functional knowledge of golf rules and methods of play; tournament, course, and driving range operations; golf techniques related to swing, putting, and mental preparation.
Working knowledge of golf instruction (individual and group); operations of tournaments and outside events; operations for league play with men and women; golf handicap information; effective product and merchandising techniques; exceptional retail sales and customer service techniques; computers and programs. .
Ability to deliver golf lessons to customers at all skill levels; engage and inform customers of current trends and techniques; gain trust, build credibility and ensure that customers are satisfied with their lessons; successfully prioritize projects, and ensure timely completion of all tasks; operate a computer with demonstrated proficiency using related database, word processing, and spreadsheet software applications at an appropriate level for efficient job performance; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City of Boise employees and the public; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Class A PGA Professional and five years of progressively responsible experience working in a golf course environment, coordinating tournaments, and providing lessons for patrons.
Licensing And Other Requirements
PGA Level II golf professional.

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds and rarely lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk and hear. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will stand and walk. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment
The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
This position works: nights and weekends during golf course hours of operations which are sunrise to sunset.
