Summary

The Director of Operational Effectiveness is a leader within our company that delivers projects on time and budget, achieving operational effectiveness, driving transparency, and working closely with cross-functional teams and business leaders. The Director will be responsible for sustaining and improving the commitment to operational productivity measurements, freedom to operate, efficiency and consistency through change and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and prioritize areas of improvement in overall operational effectiveness and resulting SOPs to be implemented across the retail footprint. Continuously evaluate and refine tools and processes to ensure they are efficient, high quality and scalable.

Provide strategic direction in concert with the Director of Retail Operations on continuous improvement opportunities for order to cash, location operations, resource utilization, logistics, demand and supply planning, etc. Lead planning and execution on process improvement and best in class operations.

Drive efficiencies, streamline processes, enhance customer value delivery, and build site team capabilities through Simplot Operating Principles and recognized improvement tools.

Lead end-to-end value chain loss analyses for operations sponsored initiatives and train/mentor region end-to-end resources to support the Business Unit initiatives to improve margin, cash flow, and identify opportunities for growth. Continuously improve the loss analysis approach and tools.

Champion the standardization of Simplot’s Retail Operational excellence program and KPI’s, definitions, and then cascading these from the SGSLT to Region to locations. Operate as a change champion and actively gather metrics and feedback to measure program effectiveness of efficiency, delivery, and productivity.

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

10+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

10+ years operational or supply chain experience in an agriculture or similarly associate industry (i.e. industrial chemicals, energy, etc.). Working knowledge of farm activities and ag inputs supply and utilization is required. Specific knowledge of how bulk fertilizer, chemical, and seed are stored, transported, handled, and applied is preferred. Exposure to implementation of change initiatives a plus.

Advanced project management skills, including time, risk management and project structuring. (PMP certificate a plus)

Strong and visible leadership - team builder and people developer utilizing strategic thinking to shape the organization and work in partnership with cross-functional teams. Ability to quickly establish credibility and execute on new and established policies, processes, and tools.

Working knowledge/understanding of supply chain principles, including distribution, logistics, transportation, warehousing, equipment operations, and safety and compliance at local, state, federal, and North American levels.
