Jacobs Civil/Conveyance Engineer in Boise, Idaho

We’re seeking a Civil/Conveyance Engineer with experience in municipal and agricultural irrigation water projects to support delivering world-class conveyance and storage projects in Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. As a Civil/Conveyance Engineer, you’ll work with other members of our local and regional team to perform specialized engineering assignments for large capacity water conveyance and storage infrastructure. Work includes design for open channel flow and low-pressure head conduit, flow control structures, pump stations, and force mains as well as water resources and other water-related civil infrastructure evaluations for municipal, private, state, Tribal, irrigation district, and Federal clients.

Depending on project size and complexity, you’ll serve as a Design Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager performing technical tasks, leading technical teams, quality control, and coordinating the use of resources to manage multiple, concurrent water infrastructure projects throughout all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout. You’ll also contribute to client development, proposal preparation, and sales pursuits.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Biological and Agricultural, Environmental, or other related engineering discipline.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in engineering and related roles.

  • Experience designing and leading small to medium sized water conveyance and storage projects.

  • Ability to lead the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, model development and analysis, studies, proposals and/or reports.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A Master's degree in a discipline listed above.

  • Technical design experience on fish passage, site development, irrigation diversion, water resources, large diameter pipeline projects and economic analysis.

  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams of both in-house team members and external partners to accomplish complex engineering, planning, and design assignments is required.

  • Design Management, Assistant Project Management, and/or Project Management experience providing leadership and oversight of the design and preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, studies, proposals and/or reports.
