ID1 Photo Area Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for mitigating area capacity risks and providing an operational corridor that enables development pace to meet program timelines and deliverables within their assigned process areas. This is accomplished by identifying and managing the systemic issues that enable the area-level tactical execution of the business plan (cycle time, process redundancy, q-time setup, area holds). This role is also responsible for reducing operational risk with efficient capital deployment through accurate risk assessments and decision making partnering with their PDE/MDE/IE counterparts.

This role works closely with the area Industrial Engineering team to jointly evaluate future tool needs, to understand area tool limiters, and capacity scenarios. Additionally, the area engineer will team with the Development Engineering Section Heads to jointly evaluate and address the priorities of the area and drive consistent manufacturing procedures that meet engineering and quality requirements.

Additional duties include but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality

-Completes all required safety training and ensures all work is conducted in accordance with Micron safety policies

-Performs safety audits and good catches

-Improves safety behaviors and processes for their work environment through analyzing and sharing safety data

-Drives a safety culture by requiring safe behaviors and sets the example for safety

-Drives quality improvement initiatives in the area

-Tracks QDRs within area with emphasis put on human QDR follow up and lessons learned

Communication/Collaboration

-Create strong area-level accountability through clear and transparent metrics on area operational and strategic performance partnering with the Area Operations Team.

-Establishes and communicates performance targets and communicates line of sight goals to individual contributors.

-Partners closely with IE, ME, OI and the shift teams to ensure strategic and systemic tactical line optimization that meets operational commitments.

-Partners closely with manufacturing and process development area leaders to effectively forecast systemic issues and create mitigation plans.

Area Strategic Performance & Risk Assessment

-Reduce operational risk with efficient capital deployment through accurate risk assessments and decision making.

-Drives innovation by researching, creating, and deploying new area operational management techniques and tools.

-Partners with Manufacturing, PD, IE and operations peers to reduce operational risk with efficient capital deployment through accurate risk assessments and decision making.

-Understands and drives efficient equipment layout and capital that balances operational and development requirements.

-Leads and participates validates planning assumptions for area.

Area Execution

-Identifies and solves systemic area issues impacting equipment throughput, human deviation, and cycle time.

-Create strong Area-level accountability through clear and transparent metrics on area operational performance.

-Provides analysis of data, highlights key trends and issues, and identifies potential solutions for area issues.

-Participates in setting area efficiency targets (CT, Utils, Moves, QDR’s, Redundancy, AMHS, TW, Q-time performance, etc.).

-Participates in the planning and execution of tactical redundancy plans.

Successful Candidates must have the following Qualifications:

-Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and self-improve.

-Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

-Strong problem solving and decision-making skills on complex problems.

-Proven skills in team building between Engineering and Operations groups

-Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs like Power Point, Word and Excel functions, formulas, and charts.

-Advanced knowledge of Fab Operations, Capacity Planning, Floor Scheduling, Line Management systems and all related reporting tools.

-Proven ability to drive projects and initiatives to successful outcomes.
