Job Summary and Description:
The Architectural Construction Coordinator at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for coordinating all aspects of an assigned project while working in a team environment with contracted services and other construction and engineering subject areas. In addition, the Architectural Construction Coordinator ensures each project is completed within scope, on schedule and within budget. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Quality:
Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies
Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety
Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours).
Follows proper organizational change practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
Leads quality improvement initiatives in their area of expertise to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and drive cost savings
Ensures specifications, standard and checklists are aligned with corporate guidelines
Leads system troubleshooting efforts when requested
Leads lessons learned type activities per area of expertise
Owns content of construction specifications, design standards and design checklists that ensure quality, efficiency and safe work
Communication & Collaboration:
Partners with key customers to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics
Coordinates with partners and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates
Provides a high level of service with strong customer focus and builds effective relationships with supported teams
Demonstrates strong partnering, negotiation and teamwork skills
Proactively seeks and provides feedback to internal and external management regarding the quality of work being performed
Collaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goals
Communicates proactively with leaders and partners on the daily priorities and issues
Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation
Collaborates with partners in the design, installation, and startup of new construction and remodel areas
Project Management/Planning:
Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and run projects
Leads projects to ensure results are completed within the required scope, schedule and budget
Supervises actions and provides critical issue path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time
Defines and leads sophisticated, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to Micron
Ensures regular communication to collaborators of project status, roadblocks, and path to success
Prepares project scope and ensures necessary input from appropriate partners
Performs project cost estimates, forecasts, project cash flows and capital budget acquisition
Coordinates the project requester’s needs, and the engineering and trades construction schedules and work loads
Monitors, controls and reviews trends in spending and correlates with forecast to resolve project budgets
Leads construction contract during execution of projects
Oversees and leads projects from initial consultant selection to close out, which could include high value projects
Technical/Data Analysis :
Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance and gain efficiency
Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution
Provides troubleshooting support for complex problems and addresses root cause
Provides consultation and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing and other department/sites
Leads or supports benchmark activities on operational, procedural, engineering, facilities systems
Maintains applicable subject area knowledge
Supports a culture of TPM
Uses administrative databases as necessary in support of job tracking, data, capital equipment facilitation, and critical system loads and capacities
Incorporates safety controls in every aspect of the design, enhancement, and modification process
Qualifications:
Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills
Ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner
Ability to plan, drive and complete projects effectively
Ability in multi-tasking complex projects
Skills in working effectively with team members from different disciplines
Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups
Strong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills
Communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences
Strong understanding of funding approval process and a working knowledge of project estimating systems
Education and Experience:
Required: Minimum – Relevant degree or appropriate certification/license
Preferred: Two to five years of experience in construction coordination or related field
