Western Aircraft Accounting Specialist in Boise, Idaho
Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for specialized accounting work in addition to supporting the daily activities of payables, receivables and treasury. In addition, performing month-end close, general ledger account reconciliations, year-end audit deliverables and project work will be done by the Accounting Specialist.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide key support to the Accounting Manager and Finance team for inquiries, projects, and supporting documentation
Maintain and update all internal customer accounts (receivable and/or payable) along with daily input routines
Collaborate with customers and WAI personnel to resolve account and transactional issues
Routinely review accounts receivable and/or accounts payable for discrepancies
Maintain and provide key support for multi-state customers, sales taxable transactions and exemptions
Balance various ledger accounts as assigned
Propose adjustments and documentation as needed to account journal entries
Perform and assist with month end closing procedures in accounting system
Effectively apply and maintain appropriate proofs and checks
Analyzes accounting records, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to corporate (or department) standards
Qualifications & Job Requirements
Experience and Competencies:
Prefer minimum of 5+ years of work experience related to financial accounting or office management
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
Aviation or Corridor platform experience preferred
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or 5 or more years’ experience in a progressively growing accounting or office environment
Other Prerequisites
Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires sitting 6-8 hours a day. Occasional lifting and carrying to 50 lbs. Constantly requires clear vision to read printed material and computer screen. Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrist hands, and/or fingers.
