The Quality Specialist is a pivotal role that drives the smooth and timely batch release of our exceptional products. As the Quality Specialist, you will orchestrate all release-related activities so that our products hit the market on time and in top-notch condition. Your keen eye for detail will be put to good use as you oversee secondary inspections, ensuring that every aspect of our products meets our high standards. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating release activities, reviewing deviations, tracking ER/Unblock, collaborating with Operations to implement necessary corrections, and providing insightful reports on release metrics. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Expected schedule flexible within the hours of 7am-5pm, while supporting a 24/7 production facility.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional partners to execute all release-related activities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to use formulas, functions and pivot tables required.

Coordination of release activities :

  • Ensure the finished products are released in compliance with all applicable FDA and Nestlé requirements within a timely manner.

  • Responsible for the on-time review of the batch records.

  • Responsible for the on-time release of the batches that are right first time.

  • Contact with internal laboratory for delivery of analytical results.

  • Ensure timely management of non-conformance reports and deviations.

  • Follow-up of Exceptional Release/Unblock requests.

  • Tracking of batches list, active participation in site DDS Meetings with update of key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Ensure reporting of First Time Right (FTR) and Average Release Time (ART) numbers to the Quality Manager as an input to site DDS.

  • Coordinate additional sampling and re-inspections with warehouse as needed.

  • Makes Usage Decisions in SAP.

Audits and inspections:

  • Provide necessary support during audits and inspections (FDA, NSF, USP, Organic, Kosher, Halal, etc.)

Continuous improvement :

  • Propose First Time Right (FTR) and Average Release Time (ART) targets and potential improvements.

  • Suggest improvements to the release process or develop tools to make the work more efficient.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field or 5 years of Quality experience in lieu of degree.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of Quality experience.

  • Experience working in a GMP environment preferred.

  • Previous demonstrated capability to lead a group (i.e. team leader role).

SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication, leadership and planning skills.

  • Ability to understand and to clarify complex problems.

  • Ability to identify and suggest new opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, or better ways of working.

The approximate pay range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
