Overview

The marketing team at Stanley Black & Decker is looking for a full-time Packaging Coordinator for Latin America to adeptly manage project details, eliminate challenges, and ensure team success in delivering “best in class” packaging assets to end users.

This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of packaging projects of varying complexity in a fast-paced environment, often balancing competing priorities as well as working with teams locally and globally. He/She will maintain project timelines, resource allocation, and task workflow in our project management platform (Workfront). The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, an openness to and interest in diverse and global perspectives, a positive, collaborative approach and will have no problem holding people accountable to get things done.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful execution and oversee project health for a portfolio of packaging projects across multiple brands and product categories.

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, including brand managers, product managers, manufacturing operations teams, structural packaging engineers, production graphic designers, and photography and product rendering specialists to align schedules and resources and facilitate delivery of world-class packaging.

  • Confirm key inputs for packaging development are complete and available, including packaging intake forms.

  • Align with brand and creative managers on packaging graphic templates to be used by production graphic designers.

  • Lead regular status and project planning meetings with key stakeholders globally and cross-functionally.

  • Assess team challenges proactively to provide effective solutions.

  • Serve as a hub of effective communication to stakeholders and project team.

  • Uphold the accuracy of data maintained in project management systems.

  • Facilitate packaging and graphics deliverables with external suppliers when necessary to meet critical timing.

  • Assess packaging cost reduction when possible for Latin America specific proyects

  • Work closely with local teams on reducing local packaging rework, based on legal requirements by market

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in project management with creative teams in a studio or agency environment

  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams including designers and content producers

  • Experience with high volume packaging projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, knowledge of Portuguese a plus

  • Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities

  • Self-starting proactivity

  • Strong personality to hold people accountable and lead through collaboration

  • Impeccable attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with international teams

  • Experience with Workfront or other project management software (Asana, Jira, Basecamp)

  • Project management certification (PMP, CPM, CAPM, CSM)

  • Experience leveraging remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Skype, Box, Miro, Slack, Microsoft Teams)

  • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator
