Diageo Supply Planning Lead in Bogota, Colombia

Job Description :

Context/Scope:

Diageo's performance ambition is to become the most trusted and respected CPG. To enable this, an above-the-market Centre of Excellence has been established to perform key functional and operational excellence areas within PLAN, spanning over all Diageo’s markets in LAC, improving a central pool of expertise that ensures standard and effective practices across countries.

Purpose of Role

  • The Supply Planning Lead is responsible for leading the efforts to balance the product availability across LAC.

  • Accountable for Data Integrity and SNP (Supply Network Plan) forecast visibility in APO.

  • Responsible for the CFR in the markets.

  • Inventory & Service Optimization: Total Inventory as a % of NSV, Total Inventory vs Target, % Healthy Inventory, SLOB, Days Forward Coverage, Stock Write-Offs, CFR

  • Supply Planning: Adherence to Agreed Replenishment Plan, DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning) Plan Stability, MPS Plan Stability, MPS Plan Rates vs Actual Production Rates, Adherence to Agreed Delivery Frequency (DRP), Escalations, Obsolete (Raw Materials and Components), Days Forward Coverage (Raw Materials and Components)

This role covers Supply Planning activities in support some of 5LAC markets: Mexico, CCA (Caribbean and Central America), Colombia, Brazil & South LAC

Operational Complexity:

  • 5 Global categories

  • 31 Warehouses

  • 1000 SKUs sold

  • 5 Distribution Requirements Planner

Top Accountabilities

Drive the Supply Planning process

  • Delivery of optimal supply network plan to meet customer service targets and drive Diageo inventory performance to leading levels, in partnership with markets to deliver upon agreed business targets.

  • Represent Supply Planning in the IBP process, balancing demand and supply signals whilst ensuring strategy and annual targets can be delivered.

  • Responsible to identify supply disruptions, risks and/or opportunities to the overall supply plan and implement vital changes & communicate effectively to key partners

  • Work collaboratively with Global Categories Leaders, Procurement, Vendors, Demand Planning and IBP Business Partners to deliver market requirements

  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly supply and product availability reporting including critical metrics, monthly calls, weekly health tracker and/or risk assessments, segmentation processes

Drive standardisation and automation of systems:

  • Responsible to conduct root cause analysis of multiple information streams as part of codification

  • Ensure Supply and Material Planning systems and processes in place are aligned to Global standards

  • Ensure that all master data pertaining to Supply Planning processes (e.g., BOMs, lead-times, batch sizes, safety stocks, etc) is maintained in the appropriate information systems (i.e. SAP ECC, APO)

Lead a high-performance Supply Planning Team

  • Provide clear direction and prioritisation of workload across the team

  • Achieve best in class engagement scores through value survey process

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Supply Planning team

  • Improve efficiency of team by ensuring systems are fit-for-purpose

  • Achieve best in class performance through aligning to global codification for PLAN, and engaging with LAC Planning leadership, Planning Excellence and OPEX Process owners for improvement activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Skills and Capabilities

  • Outstanding systems experience within supply chain optimisation platforms (ERP / master data, time-phased replenishment planning systems). (SAP APO – OMP preferred)

  • Detailed understanding of end-to-end supply chain operational processes within Diageo e.g. DRP, MPS, inventory, conversion, logistics, and customer service.

  • Outstanding influencing and partner engagement skills.

  • Ability to challenge senior partners and handle tension in demand/supply and IBP conversations.

  • Outstanding communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.

  • High degree of quantitative and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Proficient in MS applications e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook

Experience

  • +5 years Supply Planning (Production and Distribution) experience in CPG companies

  • +3 years in leading an effective planning team

  • Experience handling a highly skilled team from various cultures – Previous experience working in Latin-American

  • Experience with advanced planning software with Supply Planning (SAP APO - OMP preferred)

  • Experience in implementing central planning functions across an organisation.

Qualifications

  • Studies in appropriate supply chain, engineering, or business degree.

  • English and Spanish proficiency needed.

  • Portuguese preferred.

Barriers to Success in Role

  • Inability to lead the efforts to develop effective supply plans considering each market’s individual circumstances

  • Inability to coordinate or prioritise own and team’s activities, or to handle market and COE partner's expectations

  • Lack of credibility with Planning Leadership and country partners (Site Managers, Supply Chain Directors)

  • Inability to think in the future to anticipate problems and risks
