Job Overview:

To form effective working partnerships within the business, project site stakeholders and Human Resources.

Ensure that managers and and on-site employees are aware of the policies and procedures and able to operate them effectively and make sound judgement on issues to find workable solutions. To support business requirements in a full range of Business Partnering responsibilities including recruitment, retention, training and development, well-being, employee relations.

Partner with HR Business Partners and Managers to support the immigration needs of all the businesses and provide immigration guidance across McDermott. The role will handle visa, track case files and keep them moving through the process in a timely manner while utilizing the company’s authorized immigration vendor. In addition, the role will develop best practices to improve our level of service and efficiency

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Immigration

  • Support the Sweden-inbound immigration needs of the business, file casework with the vendor, maintaining their visa status and where applicable managing the permanent residency process.

  • Partner with HR Country Lead to maintain compliance with immigration law. Where applicable, support filing new visa petition in line with associated change(s).

  • Serve as the immigration specialist for the business and provide strategic solutions, working with outside counsel for more complex cases.

  • Advise key stakeholders on Swedish immigration regulation, alerts, updates, procedures on visas and work permits, etc. to support the business.

  • Partner with the Company’s authorized immigration vendor to keep abreast Swedish immigration updates and trends to benchmark and develop alternative solutions to immigration challenges.

  • Proactively communicate with employees and other relevant contacts regarding the status of their visa cases and extensions.

  • HR Business Partnering

  • Building credible relationships with stakeholders to enable understanding of the operational challenges, project delivery and support needed.

  • Acting as the first point of call for HR related queries from on-site employees and external parties.

  • Management of all mobilization and demobilization, welcoming employees starting on-site ensuring a seamless HR onboarding.

  • Producing high quality management information and reporting including headcount reports, interrogating and presenting data.

  • Assisting with on-site training and development administration.

  • Managing the annual leave process for on-site employees.

  • Management of the sickness absence data and right to work checks, and other vital compliance activities, such as supporting audits.

  • Working in close partnership with HR County Lead and HR Business Partners to support all business as usual HR processes including talent review, performance management process, annual salary review and people development.

  • Leading the delivery of on-site wellbeing initiatives.

  • Supporting in ER case work such as absence management, disciplinaries, grievances and consultation processes.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a related field.

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of human resources principles, practices and procedures.

  • Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with manager on unusual and employee performance matters.

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to organize and maintain a fluid administrative process.

  • Good time-management skills and ability to be self-motivated.

  • High attention to integrity, ethics, and sensitivity, particularly regarding confidential information.

  • Strong Interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
