Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator of School Engagement - Boca Raton, FL.

The Coordinator of School Engagement supports the Director of School Engagement in coordinating clinical experiences for teacher preparation programs within the College of Education. This role ensures effective communication and collaboration between the College, school districts, and community partners. The Coordinator is responsible for implementing and monitoring procedures to support clinical placements, maintaining accurate data records, and ensuring compliance with program and accreditation standards.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Clinical Placement Coordination

• Work with the Director of School Engagement to coordinate all clinical placements for the College of Education.

• Process applications and placement requests for students enrolled in teacher preparation programs.

• Serve as a liaison between the College of Education and local school districts to facilitate clinical placements and partnerships.

• Respond to and address placement-related inquiries from students, faculty, and district partners.

Program and Stakeholder Support

• Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Accelerated Induction to Teaching (AIT) program and K-12 initiatives.

• Collaborate with the Director to engage in continuous improvement of clinical experience activities.

• Process certificates of participation for school-based mentors and cooperating teachers.

• Support university supervisors, cooperating teachers, and school partners to ensure quality placements.

Data Management and Reporting

• Maintain and monitor data tracking and reporting systems, including LiveText, Canvas, and iObservation.

• Administer and report results from clinical experience surveys.

• Create and manage reports to ensure program compliance and support accreditation requirements.

Communications and Outreach

• Monitor and update the Office for School Engagement websites and related applications to ensure accurate and current information.

• Facilitate professional development opportunities for stakeholders, including teacher candidates, cooperating teachers, and university supervisors.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist in the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures as they apply to clinical placements.

• Recommend changes to policies and procedures as necessary to improve the effectiveness of the Office for School Engagement.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the goals of the College of Education.
