Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Boca Raton, Florida

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Boca Raton, Florida. The role is within the service industry and will be situated in a vibrant and dynamic workplace. The primary job function will involve managing accounts payable activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the handling of customer applications, and maintaining detailed customer records.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process customer credit applications and ensure their accuracy

• Maintain and update customer credit records on a regular basis

• Handle customer inquiries and provide prompt and accurate responses

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on the account status

• Set up client accounts and respond to related requests

• Conduct light but daily collection calls as part of the job responsibilities

• Handle high volume Accounts Payable activities

• Maintain and update company databases regularly

• Perform daily maintenance of spreadsheets and submit orders for approval

• Release information back to field representatives as required

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills for various tasks

• Learn and adapt to the use of new accounting software (training provided) Requirements • Applicants must possess a comprehensive understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and best practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for managing and analyzing financial data.

• Candidates should have a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate processing of invoices.

• Excellent communication skills are required for liaising with suppliers and resolving any invoice discrepancies.

• Applicants should have a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.

• The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines is crucial.

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process is desirable.

• Candidates should demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality for handling sensitive financial information.

• Familiarity with accounting software other than Microsoft Excel would be advantageous.

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar is preferred.
