ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer with minimum of 5 years of expertise

in electrical engineering to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible

for Electrical & Automation aspects of projects from initial concept to successful

completion. This role demands strong technical proficiency, project management skills, and the

ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU'll BE DOING

  • Manage all electrical engineering aspects of the project from inception through design, construction, and commissioning phases.

  • Develop plans, schedules, and resource allocations to meet project objectives and deadlines.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Review electrical system design and analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant industry codes and standards.

  • Collaborate with design teams to create detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and documentation.

  • Perform risk assessments to address potential challenges and propose effective solutions.

  • Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers, and subcontractors for electrical components and services.

  • Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, architects, and project managers, to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.

  • Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.

  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permits and approvals.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues, deviations from plans, and unexpected challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.

  • Implement innovative solutions to ensure project success.

  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation.

  • Prepare progress reports and present project updates to stakeholders and senior management.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • 5-10 years of experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in a similar role.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in electrical design software and analysis tools.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
