DESCRIPTION OF WORK In the role of Mechanic Intern, you will be responsible for assisting in general repairs, preventative maintenance, oil and tire changes, brake inspections and replacements, suspension repair, air conditioning diagnostics, documenting repairs, completing work orders, and using computer diagnostics. Adherence to all Department policies and procedures is mandatory. In addition, you will collaborate with designated mechanics to acquire the essential skills needed to excel in the aforementioned competencies. Active listening and asking questions are encouraged to ensure a successful outcome for both the student and the organization.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Schedule will vary based on agreement between high school and COPA location. The internship would begin 7/1/2024 and could include: summer 2024, 2024-2025 school year, summer 2025, and 2025-2026 school year. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old at time of hire. Must be a sophomore or junior enrolled in High School 2023 -2024.

Additional Requirements: Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity.

Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position. By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
