Robert Half Staff Accountant in Bloomington, Minnesota

Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution - Non-Durable industry based in Bloomington, Minnesota, United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including preparing bank account reconciliations, managing sales and use tax reporting, reviewing company expenditures, assisting in general ledger entries, and participating in annual business audits. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong accounting skills and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare bank account reconciliations for multiple accounts.

• Manage sales and use tax reporting and collaborate with external vendors for accurate submission and reporting.

• Analyze and review company expenditures and ensure proper allocation to relevant departments and accounts.

• Assist in monthly accounting entries for the general ledger following established procedures.

• Assist with cash reporting and other treasury duties.

• Participate in the annual business audit and any government agency audits.

• Assist with various licensing, tax returns, and government reporting.

• Account for payment to vendors for leased vehicles, vehicle maintenance, and fuel purchases.

• Complete fleet-related account reconciliations.

• Work independently without close supervision and make decisions that affect the financial resources and reputation of the organization. Requirements • Possesses at least 1 year of experience as a Staff Accountant in the Wholesale Distribution - Non-Durable industry

• Demonstrated expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in conducting bank reconciliations

• Familiarity with maintaining and updating the general ledger

• Proven ability to prepare and post journal entries

• Experience in managing month-end close processes

• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Must have a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Must be legally eligible to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
