Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Bloomington, Minnesota. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the industry. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for various financial duties including preparing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and working on process improvements for accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarter-end, and year-end close related activities promptly and accurately.

• Prepare journal entries and ensure their accuracy.

• Conduct reconciliation of sub-ledgers to general ledgers.

• Work collaboratively with business partners and provide support for external related audits.

• Develop process efficiencies and implement improvements to assigned accounting processes.

• Maintain appropriate internal controls.

• Participate in ad-hoc tasks/projects as needed.

• Use Microsoft Excel and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for various accounting tasks.

• Implement accrual accounting practices and manage accrued expenses. Requirements • Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software

• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting practices

• Experience in managing Accruals and Accrued Expenses

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role

• CPA certification is preferred but not required

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• High ethical standards and professionalism, as it deals with confidential and sensitive information.
