Description

• Manages the Business Services and Medical Coding staff with full responsibility for coaching and performance management of staff.

• Oversees continuous training and development of Business Services staff. Works with staff to improve skills, abilities and encourage professional growth.

• Ensures adequate staffing to meet daily needs and departmental goals.

• Initiates and coordinates the hiring process for new staff members.

• Participates in committees and coordinates projects as requested. Makes recommendations for revision and/or new departmental procedures.

• Completes assigned revenue cycle management tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

• Maintains an atmosphere of teamwork and accomplishment within the department and with other departments.

• Works directly with other management team members to communicate inter-departmental concerns, needs, changes, and updates.

• Responsible for maintenance and updates to Athena Master files.

• Assists outside providers, patients and various contacts in resolving conflicts, answering questions and providing superior customer service to ensure favorable outcomes.

• Serves as an internal consultant for finance and accounting functions (Patent Receivables, and Coding) for employees, managers and providers.

• Ensures the maximization of reimbursement through the monitoring and updating of fee schedules and the coding of medical procedures and services.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance or Accounting concentration, preferred.

• Five or more years of revenue cycle management experience required.

• Five or more years of supervisor experience demonstrated experience team building, motivating, coaching, and training staff.

• Robust working knowledge or training with CPT, ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding and applicable regulations.

• Knowledge and experience with information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release of control technologies required.

• Prior knowledge of basic medical insurance information, procedures and reimbursement practices as well as ongoing knowledge about federal legislative changes affecting outcomes.

• Experience with insurance filing and applicable regulations required.

• Current working knowledge with EMR’s and practice management systems required.

• Knowledge of Athena or similar EMR preferred, but not required.

• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills, primarily Excel required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.50 - $50.00/hr.
