HealthPartners Research Development Associate in Bloomington, Minnesota

HealthPartners is currently hiring for a Research Development Associate. The associate position ensures the efficient development and submission of research grant proposals and the scientific review of research applications through the interpretation and application of Federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the administration of research activities. The Research Development Associate works with internal Institute research investigators and external investigators and organizations to develop the scientific and financial plans for research projects in a wide variety of health and health care topics. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in related area (i.e.: Public Health, Health Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, etc.) Minimum of 2 years related experience with supporting the development of Federal grant proposals and planning health-related research projects. Strong attention to detail. Familiarity with Federal regulations related to research grants. Previous exposure to grant financial and budget management. Excellent oral and written communication, coordination, and organization skills. Computer literacy and proficiency with PCs, spreadsheets, and word processing applications. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships including with Institute leadership, staff, investigators, and representatives of funding agencies. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Grant submission or research review experience preferred; familiarity with scientific, financial, and regulatory requirements of health care research. Experience with presentations/visual display of information. Ability to take broad guidelines of a task, initiate a course of action and then coordinate the activity through completion. Demonstrated experience in developing positive work relationship with a variety of staff. Location/Hours: M-F; Days Position may work remote but will prefer local candidates for occasional onsite needs. Accountabilities: Oversees the development and submission of research proposals to a variety of funding sources including federal government, foundations, and industry for both proposals from HealthPartners Institute and external subcontracts. Ensures that all applications and subsequent requests are timely and complete. Ensures that proposals are compliant with applicable regulatory, ethical, and legal standards. Reviews application requirements and ensures proposals are complete and meet the requirements of the funding agency. Provides writing and editing services to support grant submission. Prepares and maintains supporting documentation and descriptions of the organization, personnel, and resources. Analyzes the operational and institutional requirements for conducting the proposed research and develops a budget commensurate with those requirements and within the guidelines of specific grant programs. Assists investigators in the preparation of research applications and corresponding budgets for internal research review. Maintains and uses electronic systems and software which support the proposal development process. Updates electronic tracking systems and ensures information is current and accurate. Oversees the efficient transfer of projects from development to operations by ensuring that information is shared in a timely manner with Grants Management, Contracts Coordination, Operations, Research Review/IRB, and Communications.
