Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Bloomington, Minnesota

Description

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the manufacturing industry. As a vital part of our team, you will utilize your skills in payroll processing and management, ensuring accurate and timely execution of bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees. You will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance in payroll processing.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Workday software to efficiently manage and process payroll activities

• Stay informed about Workday system enhancements and implement best practices for payroll processing

• Conduct regular reviews of timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with company policies

• Prepare and submit required payroll tax reports and filings in compliance with regulations

• Promptly investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues

• Professionally and confidentially address employee inquiries related to payroll matters

• Collaborate closely with the HR team to ensure seamless integration between HR and payroll functions

• Work in tandem with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Handle payroll for over 500 employees, including bi-monthly and weekly payroll, full cycle payroll, and multi-state payroll

• Manage payroll garnishments and reconcile payroll using Workday Payroll.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role in the manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in using Workday for payroll processing.

• Experience in bi-monthly and weekly payroll processing.

• Familiarity with full cycle payroll processes.

• Experience in managing multi-state payroll.

• Knowledge of payroll garnishments and payroll taxes.

• Experience in payroll reconciliation.

• Proven ability to manage payroll for over 500 employees.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee information.

• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to salaries, wages, and benefits.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
