Senior Estimator

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading the detailed estimation process for mining and earthwork projects. This role focuses on ensuring accurate cost calculations, comprehensive project evaluations, and effective collaboration with various departments to support the successful execution of bids and projects.

Estimation Process Management

• Oversee and guide the detailed estimation process, ensuring all estimates are precise and comprehensive.

• Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for mining and earthwork projects.

• Implement and utilize estimation software tools to streamline the estimation process and improve accuracy.

• Collaborate with operations, finance, asset management, and human resources to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.

Project Evaluation and Coordination

• Evaluate project requirements and develop comprehensive project scopes based on client specifications and industry standards.

• Identify potential risks associated with each project and develop mitigation strategies to address these risks.

• Ensure that all estimation activities comply with client specifications and company policies.

• Coordinate with the bid management team to ensure that estimates align with overall bid strategies and objectives.

Data Management and Continuous Improvement

• Maintain detailed records of all estimation activities, including assumptions, methodologies, and decision-making processes.

• Present cost estimates and project evaluations to the Operational Leadership Team, highlighting key aspects and differentiators.

• Participate in post-bid reviews to analyze the success of estimates and identify areas for improvement.

• Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and enhance future estimation processes.

• Utilize data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
