Pre-Construction Manager
Manages all aspects of job planning, cost estimation, and startup coordination
Reports to President
Pre-Construction Planning
Perform
Create detailed pre-construction plans that align with project goals and requirements.
Ensure that all operational aspects are ready for project execution, including resource allocation and scheduling.
Identify potential risks in the pre-construction phase and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Work closely with operations, finance, asset management, and human resources to gather necessary information for pre-construction planning.
Estimation and Bid Preparation
Develop detailed cost estimates for mining and earthwork projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Ensure that bid proposal templates are accurate and up to date with client information, appendixes, terms, and conditions.
Perform market research and competitive analysis to ensure Turner Mining Group's bids are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and incorporate them into the pre-construction plans and estimates.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Prepare annual project budgets for Operations team for each no project during the startup process.
Assemble cashflow forecasts for the first six months of each project after bid award.
Produce a detailed project schedule with all bid activities for Project Managers to use for each project.
Implement feedback and lessons learned to enhance future bid proposals and processes.
Identify new business opportunities and potential markets to pursue through strategic bidding.
