Robert Half Controller in Bloomfield, New Jersey

Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our client who is a dynamic Electrical Company. The Controller will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial management. This role requires expertise in cash flow analysis, financial reporting, and union construction accounting. The ideal candidate MUST be proficient with Timberline Sage 300, Microsoft Excel, and Word, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. The candidate MUST have either a Construction, HVAC or Electrical Industry background.

Financial Management: Prepare and analyze cash flow statements. Manage company financials on a quarterly and monthly basis. Oversee the work in process (WIP) accounting. Union Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely union reporting. Maintain compliance with union regulations and requirements. Accounts Management: Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). Oversee in-house payroll processing. Insurance and Benefits: Administer company insurances and 401(k) plans. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Tax and Audit: Handle company taxes and ensure timely filings. Manage monthly closings and bank reconciliations. Coordinate and prepare for audits. Work closely with external CPA on yearly reviewed financial statements. Software Proficiency: Utilize Timberline Sage 300 for financial management. Create and manage spreadsheets and documents using Microsoft Excel and Word. Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with colleagues, investment partners, and ownership. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions. Prioritize tasks to ensure timely and efficient completion of duties. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred. Minimum of [5] years of experience in financial management, in the Construction, HVAC or Electrical industry. Strong knowledge of union construction accounting. Proficiency in Timberline Sage 300, Microsoft Excel, and Word. Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. detail oriented attitude with excellent communication skills.
