A Technical Design Consultant Engineer is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Bloomfield, CT area. The Technical Design Consultant Engineer will support the ELSP (Smart Power) business by leveraging CAD skills, coordinating engineering activities, ensuring compliance, and managing documentation, with a focus on product development and design in a team-oriented environment.

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement engineering programs that meet business standards and program/product requirements.

• Use solid modeling software (PTC Creo/Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs.

• Create and maintain technical documentation for all design work.

• Ensure proper documentation of technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

• Prepare and maintain product documentation, instruction manuals, project notebooks, and design and test documentation.

• Discuss, coordinate, and analyze concepts and cost-effectiveness of Mechanical/Electrical designs.

• Coordinate engineering activities with the R&D team.

Skills:

• Clear communication.

• strong collaborative skills across functions and within global teams.

• Experience with design software (Creo Preferred).

• Experience with PLM (Windchill preferred).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar.

• Minimum 3 years of design engineering experience, including product development of industrial and/or electrical distribution products.
