The Cigna Group Senior Technology Project Manager: Value Stream Leader- Hybrid in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Job Summary:

This role will be part of the Strategic Delivery Office within Cigna Information Protection (CIP) that has responsibility for managing the Cyber Portfolio and the Delivery & Product Management functions enabling execution of the cyber portfolio, strategic projects and baseline initiatives.

The Sr. Delivery Manager will oversee planning for components of IT initiatives that impact one or more value streams in Cigna's Information Protection organization. Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of the value stream’s initiatives and provides a single point of contact to the business and IT sponsors. Must create and maintain relationships across IT and Business to foster collaboration, seek support or assistance, and communicate status. You will be responsible for building and maintaining roadmaps and working with partners and stakeholders across the enterprise to enable and deliver roadmap objectives successfully. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of agile program management practices, security methods and tools, cyber technologies, and healthcare industry trends.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for delivery and success of value stream’s initiatives from a holistic viewpoint;

  • In collaboration with the value stream leads, drive decisions around prioritization of the work;

  • Collaborate and facilitate communication and meetings with team members and value stream management leads to assure full alignment. Define schedules, identify dependences, develop solutions to business problems, and provide updates as priorities and schedules change.

  • Oversee governance structure across teams and products within value stream management. Manage risk mitigation and contingency plans. Drive activities to achieve aligned goals;

  • Ensure appropriate release plan and status is reflected in tool (i.e. CA Agile Central). Conduct presentations regarding delivery and product status to cross functional IT teams and business/domain stakeholders;

  • Provide assistance to IT team members with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems knowledge. Mentor team to improve their understanding and skill;

  • Team Leadership: Lead and sustain a high performing delivery and product management team capable of delivering exceptional outcomes to our CIP partners & stakeholders across the enterprise. Leader will set a high bar for excellence, coach current associates to their full potential and recruit / develop high potential talent into new open roles. Leader will create a collaborative culture that has a high degree of ownership for their work product while providing exceptional support for their partner/customer organization.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or related experience

  • Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in project and program management; experience in Cyber projects

  • Proven track record of leading enterprise scale, complex projects successfully;

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and project management frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a variety of audiences;

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities;

  • Strong, independent decision-making ability;

  • Ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a willingness to learn areas of technology and business;

  • Highly collaborative individual with the ability to influence others and builds strong personal relationships;

  • Proficiency to include Confluence, Jira, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent oral and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Relevant certifications such as PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist
