The Cigna Group Human Resources Leadership Development Program - Summer Intern (On-Site) in Bloomfield, Connecticut

The Cigna Group's Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) Summer Associate Internship is a 10-week developmental experience within the Human Resources and Services (HR&S) organization that offers summer associates an opportunity to own high-impact deliverables aligned to our talent strategy and work alongside HR leaders within a variety of functional areas. As a HRLDP Summer Associate, we’ll help you create the Human Resources career that you want through a variety of unique experiences.

The Cigna Group's Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) is dedicated to developing high potential talent that possess human resources skills and seek a deep understanding of the people we serve. The HRLDP builds an extensive leadership foundation through diverse rotational experiences across Human Resources. Throughout their development journey, HRLDP associates build a multi-disciplinary perspective and demonstrate the skills necessary to meet the challenges of continuously changing business conditions. As part of the program, associates receive personalized development, mentorship, training, exposure to senior HR leaders, and a sense of community within the HRLDP.

As a Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) Summer Associate for The Cigna Group, you will be:

  • Assigned to an HR Center of Expertise (COE) that encourages you to build your technical skills, business acumen and strengthen your leadership skills as you deliver upon high-impact project work.

  • Paired with an HR colleague to serve as a mentor.

  • Exposed to The Cigna Group's executive and HR senior leaders in smaller, targeted forums.

  • Positioned to develop and hone your presentation skills by presenting the outcomes of your project at the end of summer to our HR executive team.

Your Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) summer experience will include:

  • Multi-dimensional, customized personal development achieved through a challenging project-based role in a COE.

  • Experiential learning, executive speaker series, and networking.

  • Leadership development through The Cigna Group's competency-based assessment model.

  • A supportive and collaborative community of peers.

  • Community outreach and charitable events.

The HRLDP Summer Associate Internship is the primary entry point to becoming a full-time HRLDP Associate. Summer associates selected to join the full-time HRLDP will participate in three personalized rotational assignments ranging 12-18 months in duration, aligned to Cigna's talent strategy and your personal development goals.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in your first year of a Masters-level Human Resource/Labor Relations program, or MBA program with a focus on Human Resources (or similar concentration).

  • 1-3 years of professional work experience, preferably within a Human Resources function.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a highly matrixed function, build relationships with peers and leaders, and leverage networks to deliver results.

  • Possess the maturity and experience to collaborate with colleagues and leaders across functional and business areas.

  • Self-motivated and curious, with innovative mindset and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with The Cigna Group post-graduation. Therefore, this internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States after graduation and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bloomfield, CT (The Cigna Group’s Headquarters)

  • Philadelphia, PA

  • St. Louis, MO

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
