The Business Analytics Senior Advisor represents the “voice of the customer” at the team level, Understanding the business needs and working with scrum team to define functional specifications.

This role will support Cigna's ­­­­Cigna Collaborative Care/FFV program. ­­­­Cigna Collaborative Care/FFV program is a critical, high-profile, multi-year investment to modernize the foundational systems on which Cigna’s CAC reporting, analytics and payments operates. The Business Analytics Senior Advisor will work collaboratively within an innovative Agile team to ensure the success of the CAC reporting process in meeting the Analytics and Reporting needs of the organization.

Reporting to the CCC Agile Experience Owner, this role will coordinate with stakeholder partners across the business to provide partnership in analytics, developing analytics solutions, leveraging technologic capabilities and embedding analytics driven processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytics processes with complex data research and analyses to support business operations including: creating data-mapping/models/protocols, actionable reporting, and methodologies to identify trends in large data sets.

  • Exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives.

  • Partner with Data and Analytics peers on enterprise-wide analytics data strategy. Ensure all analytical data strategy related work are complementary and in-sync. This will involve in-depth data-mapping and gap analysis.

  • Effectively document new developments and build/maintain ongoing tests of data integrity and accuracy.

  • Conduct in-depth research with goal of breaking new ground in business data analytics. Creatively address business problems, leverage foundational platform changes and deploy new tools to create the next generation of analytical solutions for the Government Business Sector.

  • Perform analytics process, including data and analytic development. Ensure code is appropriately documented and can be understood by other analysts.

  • Analyze results and present analytics in a consumable method using overview, major takeaways, major questions, and next steps.

  • Maintain analytics skillset through understanding new technologies, modeling techniques, and the ability to execute and apply to our work.

  • Develop analytic solutions that meet the needs of the business.

  • Ensure analytic approach and results are clearly understood by business partners. Analyzes, designs and prepares application/system specifications for information systems solutions which address business needs and methods for testing and installing them.

  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

  • Work with scrum team members and product owners to identify and specify the complex business requirements and processes, and in the application design, testing and implementation process (e.g., diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.).

  • Acts as expert resource to development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process.

  • Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.

  • Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex Systems Analysis assignments.

  • Work with product owner to determine the product backlog and work with scrum team to define work items.

Qualifications:

  • Industry experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches.

  • Technical experience in data extraction (i.e. SQL) and visualization tools (i.e. Tableau)

  • Hands-on experience with health care data.

  • Business finance foundation in payer analytics and core payer concepts: eligibility, claims, revenue, risk adjustment, CMS payment methodology (IPPS, OPPS, SNF, etc.), and common KPIs.

  • Use relevant technology/software to access data, perform analytics, and visualize for consumption.

  • Demonstrated experience in challenging problems and driving outstanding results.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in complex matrix organizations and agile teams.

  • Experience blending creativity, relentless problem-solving, and business and financial acumen.

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills to work with various matrix partners. Industry experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches.

  • Advanced ability to use relevant technology/software to wrangle data, perform analytics, and visualize for consumption.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex details and translate those details into actionable business plans. Experience in challenging problems and driving outstanding results.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in complex matrix organizations and agile teams.

  • Experience blending creativity, relentless problem-solving, and business and financial acumen.

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills to work with various matrix partners – including the ability to produce relevant and effective executive summaries Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Health Care Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent working experience.

  • 4-6 years’ work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years’ work experience with a Master’s degree

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Expert knowledge of query languages such as SQL, HQL particularly in a large data environment (such as Teradata, Hadoop, AWS/Cloud)

  • Working knowledge of Agile Project Tracking Tools or willingness to learn same.

  • Solid organizational and communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to gain fundamental understanding of new methodologies and technologies.
