WATTS Facilities Supervisor in Blauvelt, New York

The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the equipment and facilities maintenance team for a 1st shift manufacturing operation. They will proactively manage the planning and coordination of preventive maintenance, repairs, and modifications to production equipment, facility systems, and building infrastructure. This person will supervise a team of skilled multi-craft technicians and will work with the maintenance team to prioritize and schedule departmental projects and activities.

Salary Range for this role is: $75,000 - $85,000

You will:

  • Responsible for timely and effective performance of all equipment, facility and utility repairs.

  • Accountable for annual repair and maintenance budgets.

  • Develops, manages, and continuously improves functional infrastructure such as: Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance Program, Maintenance work order process, Maintenance inventory management and control processes, Skills development and training programs, and Departmental metrics.

  • Coordinate outside service, i.e., electrical, mechanical and trades contractors.

  • Determines replacement parts and equipment components and assists with identification and procurement of machine components.

  • Identifies, justifies and implements sustainability focused improvements to the facility and manufacturing processes.

  • Leads or supports continuous process improvement projects such as existing production equipment improvements, new process development, and facility/layout modifications utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Responsible for enforcing all applicable safety requirements and ensuring OSHA regulations are followed.

  • Execute and provide input to the weekly maintenance planning process to ensure full economical utilization, availability of equipment requiring work, and availability of equipment, parts, and supplies necessary for the job.

  • Provide leadership and supervise the activities of the maintenance team to ensure efficient scheduling of workload and proper maintenance of equipment, buildings and infrastructure.

    Education

  • BS / BA in Engineering or similar technical discipline is strongly preferred.

    You have:

  • 3+ years of maintenance managerial experience.

  • Excellent understanding of safety rules in an industrial/manufacturing setting

  • Strong hands-on mechanical and some electrical abilities

  • Must be able to interact and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting

  • Ability to read, follow and understand manufacturing equipment maintenance (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals, and manufacturers’ specifications

  • Must have good communication and proven leadership skills.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts and OSHA requirements (preferred)

  • Previous production and or supervisor experience (preferred)

  • Must have a working knowledge of all or some of the following: pneumatics and hydraulics.
