Payroll Specialist PT 24 Hours during payroll weeks $26.00 - $33.00 per hour Summary: As a key member of the Finance Team, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the bi-weekly payroll process for over 150 employees across three states. This role involves close collaboration with Human Resources and Managers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, as well as maintaining precise time-keeping records. After payroll is processed, the Payroll Specialist generates and compiles various reports, including journal entries, labor reports, and compliance documentation. Additionally, this position plays a critical role in audits, such as workers' compensation and 401(k) audits. This position is based in Blaine. What Streamworks Offers: Very competitive wage based on qualifications and experience Use of our on-site fitness center Safe, clean work environment 401(k) Savings & Retirement Plan with a match Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Essential Responsibilities Confidentiality, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to research is critical in this position Multi-task and work as a team collaborating with others Ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment Payroll Comply with reporting, procedures, and regulatory requirements Pre-processing and post-processing administration such as the collection, validation and auditing of time reporting and employee information Prepare, review, analyze, and process the company bi-weekly payroll for 150+employees, including pay changes, payroll deductions, and data entry for hourly employees Responsible for accurately processing commissions and any special or bonus payrolls, including all the steps necessary to update the payroll files in preparation for wage payments. Other processing duties include error detection, adjustments, and off cycle checks Special payments, deductions, (i.e., manual checks, voids, etc.) and special pay such as taxable fringe and/or other special circumstances. Process manual payroll checks and accurately record in the payroll system Review applicable payroll reports pre/during/post each processed payroll for accurate data and payments. Research and resolve any issues or discrepancies found in the audits. Provide a report of findings as necessary Prepare, print, and file payroll reports, maintaining accurate records. Update and maintain reports (Production hours and wages, Workers Compensation Earnings by classification and premium estimations based on earnings by department. Accrued Earnings and estimated tax liability at month end etc.) Process, analyze, and reconcile 401(k) deferrals and match. Prepare Annual Census Reporting and assist with annual audit Process and balance, HSA, and FSA contributions Reconcile payroll benefit deductions with benefits invoices Quarterly write-off for uncollected benefit premiums Maintain interactions with state and federal government agencies and other agencies dealing with employee wage and tax liens and garnishments Enter liens, garnishments, and child support into ADP with Goals. Ensure work activities comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding transactions and filings Process documentation: assist with creating and maintaining all process documentation for the payroll system and processes, ensuring it is an accurate reflection of the workflow activities to meet internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements Be able to handle confidential information in a professional manner Payroll Customer Service Assist Managers with timecard exceptions, approvals and questions. Respond timely to general payroll-related questions, inquiries, and written verifications for liens, child support etc. made by government agencies and other companies. Communication: keep Manager or other appropriate management apprised of progress on open issues. Act as a resource with timely responses for employee assistance and inquiries regarding payroll. Ability to interact with employees and cust mers in a professional manner Other Create process and procedure documentation when there is none Keep processes and procedures updated Other duties as assigned.
