What is the job about?

As Chief Product Development Engineer you will have functional responsibility for Drives software and Ecosystems domain.

Moreover, you will lead the overall product solution architecture, with a focus on the ecosystem of embedded software; supporting software tools and interfaces both for IoT monitoring solutions as well as the company production systems, and other relevant IT tools and systems.

You will develop and apply initiatives with an impact on the Group level.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Having responsibility for a key strategic technology area (Drives SW Ecosystem and interfaces between systems).

  • Gather and generate new ideas as input to SW roadmap and mature technology readiness of those ideas to architecture and specifications

  • Proactively steering future software initiatives with our Global Technology and Innovation teams and other Grundfos teams.

  • Developing drives SW domain by developing a road map for future activities across the software ecosystem.

  • Maintain relevant internal networks within your area.

  • Being a mentor for and developing the professional skills of others.

  • Setting technical direction for product development projects on overall system solution architecture.

  • Specifying new processes and standards based on organizational strategy or mid to long-term deployment plans.

Your background

You have application understanding in the pump and/or variable speed drive domain with the ability to convert this into high-level: Embedded SW platform requirements, requirements for tools in the SW ecosystem, and requirements for IoT interfaces & solutions. You have likely worked with embedded software architecture or as a software solution architect.

We imagine that you have:

  • Expert level knowledge in technical domain (Drives and/or pump software).

  • Experience with software architecture definitions and orchestration of software ecosystems resulting in consistency across the product offering.

  • Experience working in a large manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience besides formal education.

  • Significant background in executing complex software projects in product development.

  • Proven results supporting key initiatives in a large organization.

  • Experience in acquiring and setting new best practices in relevant systems, local laws and regulations where applicable, in product development.
