Sulzer is seeking a Regional Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to lead our Service Centres in the Southern Region. We are looking for an individual who is curious, actively seeks to understand the realities of work, fosters an open and transparent culture, and is committed to building and leading a high-performing HSE team.

As a Regional HSE Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping and implementing HSE strategies that protect our people and the environment, while aligning with Sulzer’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HSE Specialists across the Southern Region, collaborating with and supporting local Operations Teams

  • Drive HSE projects that align with our improvement strategy, focusing on mitigating significant risks to the organisation

  • Champion clear communication, simplicity, and transparency, fostering an environment that removes barriers and emphasizes accountability

  • Promote continuous learning and growth by encouraging reflection on successes and challenges, driving ongoing improvements in HSE processes and performance across all sites

  • Develop and deliver ESH training programs for all employees, fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organisation

  • Create and implement compliance and improvement plans tailored to each Service Centre, using a practical, risk-based approach

  • Oversee and support audits, inspections, and reporting to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement

  • Lead investigations of HSE incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences

  • Collaborate closely with site managers, operations teams, and stakeholders to ensure HSE considerations are integrated into all aspects of operations

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in HSE leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience developing and managing a high performing HSE team

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

  • Willingness to travel within the Southern Region as required
