Energy Efficiency Pilot Program Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Energy Efficiency Pilot Program Manager exists to support the Company’s strategic objective of implementing energy efficiency pilot programs some of which are approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission (“GPSC”) as potential demand-side management (“DSM”) resources. The EE Pilot Program Manager should implement and manage a broad range of energy-saving pilots through testing new and emerging technologies, as well as research to support existing energy efficiency programs. The EE Pilot Program Manager leverages the results of pilots and research projects to provide value, informing and shaping future certified DSM programs for residential and commercial customers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree preferred
Must have a minimum of 5 years in Energy efficiency experience or program manager experience
Travel in-territory (opco region partners, customers, and vendors) and nationally (1-3 times per year) required
Demonstrated intellectual curiosity in new and emerging technologies and creative methodologies to elevate and enable customer participation and satisfaction for saving energy
Experience with business plan development, execution of project launch, and life-cycle management activities preferred
Prudency with maintaining project schedules and overseeing costs and resources including contractors/consultants when required
Broad, strategic understanding of the Company’s operations, policies, and procedures
Understanding of regulatory requirements and relationships preferred
Understanding of existing certified Energy Efficiency programs
Excellent communication and presentation skills – written, oral, and interpersonal (including public speaking to varied audiences)
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders simultaneously
Ability to motivate and influence without positional leadership
Ability to build and maintain highly effective internal and external relationships
Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-directed
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for a portfolio of Commercial and Residential Energy Efficiency Pilots with annual budget expectations. These responsibilities include:
Pilot Development and Implementation
Partner with Energy Efficiency leadership and like counterparts to develop a pilot pipeline and implement pilot programs to meet objectives and goals
Work with business units including Supply Chain, Legal, Technology Organization, Finance, Corporate Communication, Customer Experience, and Regulatory Affairs, as well as implementation vendors to administer and successfully implement pilots
Establish and manage necessary quality assurance and verification protocols for ensuring compliant implementation
Increase customer satisfaction through successful implementation of energy efficiency pilots
Manage the energy efficiency pilot program budgets through monthly tracking and payment of invoices, maintaining contract obligations, etc.
Provide monthly pilot results to Energy Efficiency leadership and internal partners (implementation status, budget, evaluation, etc.)
Work with national, state and local stakeholders
Pilot Evaluations
Partner with Evaluation, Measurement, & Verification (EM&V) partners to develop evaluation protocols to measure pilot program success and provide guidance to pilot program evaluation contractors
Incorporate pilot program evaluation results and provide recommendations in the strategy and development of the DSM plan in support of the IRP (Integrated Resource Planning) filing developed every three years
External Representation
Serve as the Company’s expert to customers, industry and trade associations and other stakeholders relating to regulatory, legislative and energy efficiency topics
Maintain strategic knowledge of industry market and program trends, impacts, resources, other utility implementations, and best practices
Provide consultation and leadership in national energy efficiency associations
