Job Skills / Requirements

Dispatch Lead 2nd & 3rd Shift

Pay Rate: $19/hour

One of the most important roles in dispatch is managing the scheduling needs of SEI officers. With multiple clients and shifts to cover, this task is rarely straightforward.

Dispatch Leads are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dispatch team, ensuring the efficient and timely coordination of SEI scheduling processes. This role includes managing dispatch staff, optimizing dispatch procedures, and maintaining effective communication with SEI clients and other stakeholders.

Typically, the Dispatch Lead is also responsible for training new dispatchers on how to effectively use the company’s monitoring and shift scheduling tools. This training may include basic procedural guidelines. The Dispatch Lead should be able to explain specific situations or special requirements related to each client and shift, enabling the assigned officer to fulfill their responsibilities effectively after being assigned.

Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift- Weekday/Weekend =Sunday-Thursday 1500-2300

  • 3rd Shift-Weekday/Weekend=Thursday-Monday 2300-0700

Work Location: Birmingham Office

Work Remotely: No

Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, interact with 1100+ security officers, and be skilled in providing leadership and direction to a staff of six or more people.

Candidates will be tested on their typing skills (minimum of 25 WPM), email composition and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

A successful Lead should have strong organizational skills as well as strong communication skills for managing calls and working with staff and clients. They should have a professional voice and experience managing people. Having knowledge of scheduling systems is important but can be learned on the job. Here are several skills and qualifications a Dispatch Lead should have.

  • 2+ years in a supervisor or management role, preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must read, write, and speak English.

  • High degree of emotional self-control.

  • High moral character and integrity.

  • Must have strong verbal, problem-solving, and follow-up skills; and the ability to coordinate and perform several tasks simultaneously.

  • A highly organized and detail-oriented professional who can work independently.

  • A strong and clear writer, able to quickly and articulately prepare clear and appropriate correspondence and reports.

  • Excellent computer skills. Knowledgeable in MS Word, and Excel, with the ability to learn programs quickly.

  • Must be a team player - work well with others; understands the role each person plays in the organization and is trustworthy and reliable.

JOB SUMMARY: The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Dispatch Lead should have experience working with people in stressful situations and should be capable of handling more challenging tasks. This includes staying calm and helping to calm others while resolving any issues that arise. Additionally, they should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple schedules, and prioritizing several tasks simultaneously.

Employees may occasionally need to stay in the Dispatch office beyond their normal work shifts during emergencies. They might also work outside their regular hours due to increased workload or if a team member calls off in the Dispatch Office.

Other Duties:

Monitors and operates the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) System during assigned work shifts, as well as tracking the activity of patrol officers using GPS software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods.

  • Repeating the same movements with the wrist and fingers.

  • Viewing a computer screen for 8-10 hours.
