Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the performance of complex maintenance, servicing, repair, and troubleshooting of cranes, hoists, and related machinery and equipment
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance of all hoist/crane related equipment
  • Accountable for safety of installation/service team
  • Responsible for quality of erection/dismantle
  • Ability to adjust or replace bearings, brakes, cables, guide rails, counterweights, cable sheaves, and buffers
  • Responsible for adjusting safety controls, counter weights, and mechanism of doors
  • Performs cleaning and placement of tools as well as cleaning the provided work area

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of hoist techniques/ crane mechanical theory
  • Self motivated and a team player
  • Familiarity in using hand tools

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Ability to position the body to effect repairs in confined areas, 200 feet plus in the air on a crane/hoist, under crane, etc.
  • Ability to climb stairs, i.e. tower sections, crane, ladder, etc.
  • Overtime and weekend work is required
  • Extensive travel throughout but not limited to the southeast United States
  • Must be able to travel on short notice

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to reach , hold, position, maneuver, and operate hand tools and replacement parts
  • Ability to identify wires, and other parts by color and other identifying information
  • Ability to use fine hand and finger movements to identify and work on parts not always visible
  • Ability to lift, carry, position, and hold parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance during repairs and with mechanical assistance, in excess of 500 pounds
