Aerotek CNC Machinist in Birmingham, Alabama

Description:

-Ideal candidate has at least two years’ experience operating a CNC lathe/router -Ability to read blue prints and technical drawings, understand engineering specifications and transform these into the correct programming for the CNC Router -Ability to perform program edits to G-code CNC programs -Ability to conduct preventative maintenance on CNC Router & do minor repairs -Good math and measurement skills, including use of micrometers, vernier calipers -Good verbal and written communication skills -Good problem solving skills, detail oriented, well organized, willingness to keep work area clean and orderly Dependable PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing for up to eight to ten hours/day Walking, bending, & stooping two to three hours/day Ability to wear PPE, including, but not limited to, a respirator, hard hat, safety glasses and uniform Capable of lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

The position will train of 1st shift, and move to 2nd.

No certs required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-They must have experience with setting up and breaking down the machines. -The candidate must be able to plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances -Must have experience with Bob Cam, Bob Cad, Gibbs Cam or something like it. Someone who has some (5 months to a few years) of supervisory experience is preferred.
