Aerotek Is Hiring Sandblast Operator's In Binghamton (2nd Shift | $21/hr)

Job Description

The Sandblast Operator is responsible for operating specialized machinery that fires high-powered jets of sand at metal assemblies within a specialized sandblast room. The position involves removing paint, grime, adhesives, rust, or imperfections from the surface of large metal structures to prepare them for paint finishing. This role is highly physical and requires stamina and upper body strength.

Responsibilities

• Sandblast metal assemblies.

• Ensure safety while handling parts and operating equipment to avoid any possible damage to others as well as production.

• Perform minor equipment maintenance.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures.

Essential Skills

• General labor

• Sandblasting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school or GED diploma.

• 1-2 years of experience in a related field.

• Positive attitude.

• Flexibility with schedule to allow for coverage across shifts and additional duties.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to follow instructions.

• Must be able to work around and with chemicals and sand products.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Capability to perform and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Work Environment

This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to sand/dust, heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. The position will frequently require walking, standing, bending, squatting, and continuous movement throughout the shift. Candidates must be capable of lifting 0-50 lbs in the proper ergonomic position.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
