Principal Cyber Security Engineer - Team Lead (Onsite)

Do you like video games? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to create your own and bring that video game to life? As a Principal Cyber Security Engineer within the Simulation, Training, and Solutions (STS) business area you will help develop and build simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. This role will give you an opportunity to work with cutting edge technology and bringing real world applications and tools to life that help support our warfighters. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon system and full-flight training systems including full visual, motion, and simulator interoperability.

There is a wide variety of work to be done and this role is far from repetitive, rarely doing the same work twice in one week. This role offers a casual work environment with flexibility in the schedule and an opportunity to travel as well as a great opportunity for career growth and development.

What YOU will do:

  • YOU will serve as the Cybersecurity Lead for a small team of engineers in an Agile matrixed environment.

  • YOU will lead the design, development and implementation of solutions to meet DoD Cybersecurity requirements.

  • YOU will generate and present technical design to the internal team and external customer

  • YOU will assist in the development of responses to Request for Proposals (RFP).

  • YOU will work with the master schedulers to create and maintain the project schedule, aligned with planning and delivery dates.

  • YOU will assist Senior Engineering Manager with cybersecurity cost account management and project schedule management activities.

  • YOU will interface with the customer, keeping up to date on the design, integration and testing of cybersecurity solutions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret or higher security clearance is required prior to start date

  • Hold either a CISSP or Comptia Security + CE certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluent knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 security controls, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and DoD‑Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Lead role over analysts and engineers/operators that oversee the day-to-day security operations as well as annual activities to maintain system ATO.

  • Minimum 5 years’ hands on experience remediating Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scan results.

  • Minimum 5 years’ hands on experience configuring McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO) and/or McAfee Endpoint Security (McAfee ENS).

  • Minimum 3 years’ hands on experience with Virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
