Aerotek MIG/TIG Welder in Binghamton, New York

Job Title: MIG/TIG Welder

Job Description

Welder will perform MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding techniques during the assembly process of diversified metal assemblies to the customer drawing specifications and work order instructions.

Hard Skills

  • Performance of MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding techniques for fabrications

  • Ensure the weld operations are performed in accordance to the established specifications (i.e. production work orders and drawings)

  • Ensure quality and self-inspection is performed as per procedure using drawings, fixtures, jigs, and/or measuring tools

  • Experience in welding heavy steel and stainless steel

  • Experience with new build welds and repair welds

Soft Skills

  • Meet pre-established objectives as a team or by oneself with limited to no supervision

  • Ensure safety while handling parts and operating equipment to avoid any possible damage to oneself, others, or production

  • Actively participate in new product introduction and suggest new approaches and techniques for continued improvement in production and quality

  • Actively participate in the upkeep and cleanliness of the workplace and general area overall

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 800 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Binghamton, New York.

Work Environment

This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. Position will be primarily working in a standing position for up to six (6) plus hours per day. Some duties will require sitting for short periods of time. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs. in the proper ergonomic position.
