Description

Director of Clinical Services

Salary $80,000-$90,000

TheDirector of Clinical Servicesis responsible for the oversight of members of ACHIEVE’s clinical team and all outside clinical contracts including, but not limited to, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. The Clinical Director is responsible for the review and approval of all behavior and monitoring plans and leading the agency in efforts to provide premiere supports. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for ensuring and monitoring adherence to all regulatory requirements.

  • Development, oversight and approval of behavior support plans and monitoring plans in accordance with Part 624 and 633 regulations as indicated by team decisions and/or individual needs.

  • Understand and promote organizational and departmental initiatives that align with agency values.

  • Provide supervision to the Behavior Specialists and Behavior Technicians and work collaboratively with outside vendors to ensure that the behavioral support needs of individuals throughout the organization are being met.

  • Responsible for oversight of contracted services with outside agencies.

  • Responsible for facilitating and monitoring referrals and assessments.

  • Responsible for completing assessments.

  • Provide as-needed counseling supports for individuals served.

  • Monitor tracking mechanisms and share data/outcomes related to behavior support plans.

  • Assist with screenings and intakes and ensure the supports are in place for all newly admitted residents.

  • Perform documentation reviews and ensure internal audits are completed.

  • Chair the Human Rights Committe and Chair the Informed Consent Committee.

  • Attend Program Planning Team meetings as needed and attend and participate in assigned committee meetings to provide clinical input.

  • Responsible for compliance with all Part 624 and 633 regulations and reporting violations, deficiencies and/or incidents as they are discovered or observed.

  • Seek grant opportunities to further develop the mission and expand services.

  • Responsible for maintaining communication to all appropriate stakeholders to support or follow through on Behavior Support Plans

  • Identify and report and/or correct any untoward incidents, safety hazards including physical plant problems, and/or problem work practices and assist with investigating all work-related accidents as requested.

  • Develop, implement, and/or provide training and education to staff.

  • Work collaboratively on ensuring that training and education on a variety of topics, including mental health diagnoses, dual diagnoses, sexuality, individual rights, etc. are taking place as required, requested, and needed.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess good analytical, interpersonal, written, oral, and communication abilities and effective time management/organizational skills.

  • Able to work scheduled hours that may include overtime, weekend and/or holiday timeframes and maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in the agency’s personnel policy manual and handbook.

  • Be computer literate with knowledge in agency operating systems and applicable software required for department needs.

  • Able to generate and present comprehensive written reports and respond to questions about the report.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations.

  • Participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or New York State Licensed Psychologist with experience in OPWDD. - OR - a combination of education, experience, and/or licensure that in the opinion of the reviewing agency, exceeds the above standards of the program.

  • Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift fifty (50) pounds.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier guidelines.
