At Leonard Bus, we provide competitive pay, paid on-the-job training, and a state-of-the-art facility.- Work on well-maintained vehicles- Flexible technician schedules Monday through Friday with option of working (4) 10-hour days or (5) 8-hour days- Hourly pay, not flat rate- Paid on the job training and certification- Opportunity for technician advancement- Paid time off available after your first day- Great benefit package including multiple medical options, dental, vision, 8 paid holidays, flexible spending, dependent care, and 401k with company match- Company paid benefits including short and long term disability and life insurance- Weekly pay- Annual technician reimbursements including $1,000 tool allowance and $250 boot allowance- Uniforms- Company will pay you to train and obtain your CDL license during working hours- Up to $2,000 referral bonus- Up to $4,000 sign-on bonusResponsibilities:- Provides on-site technical assistance, examining buses to determine malfunctions and repairs required and notifies supervisors of needed repair.- Performs automotive and component diagnosis, testing, repair, rebuild, and replacement as required and assigned; including but not limited to diesel, gas, and propane engines and related components; transmissions; brake systems; steering; suspension; cooling systems; wheelchair lifts, electrical, lighting, and safety systems; pneumatic, hydraulic, and air systems; and on-board diagnostics. - Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, statutory requirements, and company policies and procedures.Minimum Requirements of the position are:- High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by appropriate technical courses and related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Minimum of two (2) years of diesel engine experience.- Minimum of one (1) year of air brake experience; providing advanced air brake knowledge.- Computer proficiency in web-based programs and applications, Microsoft Office Suite applications and related departmental software, to include researching and looking up information. - Experience using diagnostic computer systems. Certifications or Licenses Required:- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (with the proper endorsements) for New York State or for the state of residence, which must be maintained throughout employment - OR - ability to obtain said license per written company policy. Minimum Salary: 27.00 Maximum Salary: 31.81 Salary Unit: Hourly
